THE RHINE CROSSING Part 2
Description
Reel 1, infantry and trucks, carrying pontoon sections, move along a road in Germany. A flamethrower captured from the Germans is tested. Infantry, heavy equipment, and tanks are ferried across the river in amphitracks, barges, and pontoon rafts. German POW's are taken across in the opposite direction and marched to the rear. Engineers work on a pontoon bridge. Reel 2, the POW's are searched and permitted to rest on the roadside. Motorized infantry and armor move through a rubbled town. Landing craft and pontoon rafts are used to continue the ferrying operation; the bridge nears completion.
