Mules swim alongside the rafts. American liaison officers with the Chinese 3d Field Artillery Bn, Fifth Army, on the trail leading down to the river crossing. HS, crossing. Many men are standing on the beach while rubber boats paddle back and forth in the water. Gen Lung Hsi Lien, 11th Army Group, his staff as well as Brig Gen Frank C Dorn and Lt Col W H Darrab are on the beach. A Chinese general waves as he leaves in the rubber boat.
