Signal Corps 111 ADC 1765 ADC SOURCE: British Combat A-50 1765 FILM: Arch, DN&APC, MP, 633' ea Silent GEN MARK W CLARK IN NAPLES, ITALY: 4 October 1943 Gen Clark gets out of car with another officer, a Maj Gen who looks like Matthew B Ridgway. Gen Clark stands near a British officer then gets into L-4 plane which takes off from a Naples street. A line of small cars proceeds along the street and the lead car turns off into an open area which contains Liaison planes. An officer gets out of the vehicle. This may be another shot of Gen Clark arriving. An L=4 plane moves out into the street and then takes off. Another L-4 takes off from street. MS, two soldiers step out of an L plane with American markings. One soldier walks off, the other lifts the plane from the end and sets it back on the ground. Two British soldiers work on an L plane, then cover it with netting. LS, crowded street in business section of the city. Smoke is coming out of one of the bldgs. Fire trucks are in the street. Scenes of wreckage in Naples harbor; capsized ships and boats, damaged dock bldgs. A view of the harbor; Vesuvius in bg taken from an antiaircraft defense point.
