MCU, Adm Blandy salutes flag. MLS, MSs, long line of soldiers wade thru water in search of beach obstacles. MCU, officer uses megaphone to direct line of men thru water. Follow shots, first wave of LVTs of 81st Div lands on Asor-Ulithi Atoll. VS, soldiers cautiously advance across atoll. Full screen view, soldiers assembled on beach near landing craft. One soldier helps another get into flame throwing equipment. CUs, mortar parts, canteens, rifles, etc. Short scene, US fighter planes over jungle. CU, US flag is raised atop a telephone pole. MSs, CUs, soldiers wade thru water and board landing barge. A soldier with bandaged leg is helped thru water.
