Summary: L & MS, truck with drill mount drilling at side of road in preparation to blasting. VCUs, men working with drill on vehicle. CU, MLS, drill making holes in rock at side of roadway. They are also drilling rock formations at roadside. CU, drill boring into rock. MS, laborer tapping the turning drill with hammer. MLS, halftrack passes point where men are working. MS, MCU, Sgt cutting C-3 high explosive into smaller parts in preparation for packing M-3 demolition block (TNT). CU, as hand picks up a box of explosive block (TNT). Sgt packing explosives into hole in rock. MCU, Sgt packs the charge around wire, then jams the charge and wire into hole and inserting fuse. CU, hands wiring fuse. Another man wiring explosive charges. CU, as fuse is put into hole. Another man splicing wire. Tilt-up, of wire going upside of mt. CU, blasting cap. MS, man wiring plunger. CU, man pushes plunger. LS, of the area where the blast is to take place. MLS, as the blast goes off. Bulldozer comes on the scene, moves twds the blasted rock. Two bulldozers clearing the road. RA, as dozer pushes the rock over side. HS, two dozers clearing mound of rubble caused by the blast. HAS, first truck loaded with shells going over the new road. Vehicles, trucks moving over the new road.
