PRESS STATEMENT BY ANNA ROSENBERG, PENTAGON, WASH DC.: Washington DC: 11/06/1951: MS, Int, Assistant Sec of Defense Anna Rosenberg seated at her desk makes a statement regarding her trip to Korea.(Sound poor) "I had gone to Korea to see our manpower", said Mrs Rosenberg, "but there I saw the power of our men". Looking directly into the camera, she wants every man, woman and child to know that our men are well cared for, that they are the best fed in the world. In fact, she continues, she saw men eating fried chicken on the firing line. She spoke of the conscientious care that had men removed from the front by helicopter within twenty minutes of being wounded. I saw magnificence of spirit, she says, the spirit that makes America great. She says that Korea was tough, every ridge a Heartbreak Ridge, and what started as a heartbreak for us ended as a heartbreak for the enemy. Assuring the mothers, fathers, wives, and sweethearts of the fighting men that they receive superb care, she describes the steps being taken to assure that every man who spent last winter in Korea would not spend another fighting there. She pronounces the spirit and morale of the troops as "magnificent" and urges the civilians to an equal performance.
