Summary: LS, int, Barkley and an officer walk away from camera to table with microphones in conference room at Imperial Hotel. LS, Barkley stands at table. Officer left says, "Gentlemen, the Vice President of the United States". MLS, Barkley seated, says he is highly honored by their presence. He speaks of the thrill that he and Mrs Barkle received from their visit to Japan and Korea. He expresses the wish that every American could have been with him as he traveled with Gens Ridgway, Van Fleet, and others along the Eighth Army front. Speaking proudly of the morale and spirit of all the fighting men of the UN forces, the Vice President terms it an inspiration for all, etc. MSs, MLS, photographers pop up in front of camera for flash shots of Barkley. He continues, saying that he wanted to send back to the American people and to all people of the UN, a message of pride and hope in the indomitable spirit of their fighting men. He concludes that Korea shows that the American people and their sons have been, and will be, willing to fight, bleed and die to preserve liberty, etc. si.: MS, Pfc reporter, Stars and Stripes, asks the VP a question.
