VS, arrival of Maj Gen Withers A Burress, CG VII Corps to welcome the 28th Div. Officers chat on wind and rainswept pier. Burress goes aboard the Butner. POE bldg, Sign, "Welcome - Bremerhaven Port of Embarkation". VS, troops move off the Butner "on the double." General Dwight Eisenhower accompanied by General Thomas T Handy, Burress, Maj Gen Daniel B Strickler, C 28th Div and Magill, leave their cars, salute the Colors, and inspect, guard.
