Summary: Pres and Mrs Rhee visit Maj Gen John H Church, CG, 24th Div. MS, Gen Church shaking hands with Rhee as Mrs Rhee looks on. The general saying a few words before Pres Rhee gets into car. REFUGEES.: Seoul: 12/28/1950: VS, Koreans with carts and on foot, mostly all with belongings, moving out of city. HS, from top of demolished bridge, looking down, as refugees stream across ponton bridge. EVACUATION.: Seoul: 12/28/1950: LS, destroyed highway bridge over Han R which has been partly reconstructed so that it can be used for foot troops and refugees. VSs, Korean refugees (men, women & children) using bridge to cross river, moving south. Many refugees are carrying heavy loads. Looking down ramp of reconstructed bridge, Koreans walking up. One boy is rolling a wagon wheel. Another boy comes in and helps him. LS, refugees standing on the bridge. US tanks and trucks crossing Al Jolson ponton bridge over the Han. To the left, reconstructed highway bridge. Two men, 11th Engrs clear ice away from ponton bridge. They are breaking the ice with long boards. Seq: Dukws of the 558th Amphibious Truck Co., Inchon, keep the ice broken up on the river in vicinity of Al Jolson bridge. Shots made from dukw as it breaks up the ice. (very good scenes) UIJONGBU COMBAT.: 12 Mi N of Seoul: 01/01/1951: Americans studying map on hood of jeep. LS, of same, showing other jeeps (may be 24th Div Recon Unit). MS, two men, aiming, loading, and firing an 8lmm mortar. A light snow on ground. LS, over a field, partly covered with snow, showing wisps of smoke on mountain in bg. Cut to, men loading and firing mortar. A third man stands in back. CU, mortarman.
