Description

Summary: VS, trucks carrying barges pass camera L-R; followed by bulldozer pulling another barge. Sign in fg, "Zone Quartermaster Warehouse, Class I and III Supplies". MCU to CU, bulldozer pushes dirt over logs laid across section of road. VS, construction of road by Negro soldiers. Seq: Barges are transported across road where they are lowered into river over slide. CU, FSV, Pans, pile of steel tubing. VS, Negro soldiers transfer tubing from one area to another by rolling along line of pipes. CUs, MCUs, Negro servicemen shooting dice. LS, Pan, construction area, river in bg. Men roll steel pipes onto barge. In bg construction vehicles are ferried across river. Barges ferrying supplies. CU sign, "Dawson Creek Welcomes You". (This is in Canada) Various CUs, signs on buildings of Dawson Creek. Numerous shots showing activities in streets of Dawson Creek. CU, shadowed sign reads, "Bechtel Price Callahan, Canol Project". VS, telephone poles are set up, trucks are loaded with supplies, and gasoline tanks set up. Sunset shot, trucks with headlights on roll along Alcan Highway. VS, trucks are loaded with pipes. Loaded trucks ro1ling past. CU portion of sign, "Alcan Hw". MCU, Alcan Highway Control Station booth. (snow-covered terrain) Various Pans, vehicles pass control point and proceed along snowcovered road and across bridge. Excellent scenes, pole line construction along highway. CU, sign, "Dangerous Hill, Trucks Go Into First Gear, Watch for Slides". RV, Canol sedan descending hill.
