AV, Palau Islands. AV, airstrip on Peleliu Island. MS, men on carrier loading bomb on Hellcat plane. MS, Hellcats (F6Fs) on deck of carrier warming up, one taking off, followed by a Helldiver, (SB2C). LS, formation of navy planes in flight. AVs, smoking island of Peleliu after bombing. MS, squadron of Flying Fortresses (B-l7s) flying over camera. MS, men in plane at their stations. AVs, bomb dropping on Peleliu. LS, MS, task force and convoy of transports at sea on way to Peleliu. Ints, men eating aboard ship. Seq: At signal men's battle stations, guns are loaded and warships shell island. Seq: Landing craft loaded with marines moving toward smoking island, and marines moving up and hugging beach after landing.
