"FURY IN THE PACIFIC" Part 1

Description

Summary: Seq: Marines attacking Japanese held cave positions with rifles and flame throwers; Japanese soldier coming out of cave and being shot down. Seq: Wounded marines are evacuated, placed in landing craft, and brought to hospital ships where they are treated. Seq: Soldiers of the 81st Army Div in landing craft enroute to Angaur Island, Palau Gp, landing and establishing a beachhead. (Excellent scenes). LS, Japanese snipers in sunken boats offshore at Peleliu are shelled and strafed. Seq: Marine planes and artillery shell Japanese positions at Peleliu. Seq: Marines attacking Japanese cave positions at Peleliu with rifles, rocket launchers, flame throwers, machine guns, hand grenades, rifle grenades, mortars and flame throwing tanks. MS, advancing marine is shot down by sniper fire. Seq: Wounded marines are evacuated under enemy fire. MS, Japanese coming out of caves and surrendering. (Most of the troops are nude.) CU, montage, individual shots, dead Japanese soldiers.
