Description

Summary: In the courtyard of the Hotel des Invalides, French Maj Gen Alphonse Juin decorates American Army officers. Among the generals decorated are Lt Gen John C H Lee and Maj Gen John T Lewis. After decorations and awards there is a parade by Honor Guard. (30 generals, 23 colonels, 9 lieutenant colonel and 3 majors were decorated). FIELD MARSHALL BERNARD L MONTGOMERY DECORATES RUSSIANS.: Berlin District, Germany: 07/12/1945: VS, at the foot of the Brandenburg Gate, Field Marshal Montgomery decorates Russian Marshal Georgi Zhukov, Gen Sokolovsky, Gen Malinin, and Marshal Rakosovsky. (Note: Only three Russians are actually seen being decorated). BERLIN MEETING.: Germany: 07/11/1945: Ints, meeting of the Allied powers in Berlin to establish the inter-Allied Military Kommandatura. Men seated at council table. VS, Maj Gen Floyd L Parks (US) and Russian officers arriving for meeting. LSs, building where meeting took place. MLS, Gen Parks, Maj Gen Lynne (British) and Col Gen Gorbotow (Russian) at table. French representative is not seen with group.
