Vietnam (Official U. S. Army film released by Department of Defense) A.P.C. Thanksgiving Day is once again being celebrated by Americans all over the world. The military personnel in Vietnam are no exception. Turkey and all the trimmings are today's fare for soldiers of the 173rd Airborne Brigade at Bien Hoa, South Vietnam. Although the men have at least one hot meal a day, today's lunch is better than average. The mess halls have prepared turkey, giblet gravy, dressing, mashed potatoes, buttered peas, cranberry sauce and, of course, the traditional pumpkin and mince meat pie. Many of the men in Vietnam are sitting down to their Thanksgiving Day meals in unit mess halls. For the rest, however, like these soldiers of the 173rd Airborne Brigade, the food is being transported to combat areas by trucks or helicopters. U. S. Servicemen in Vietnam, whether stationed at posts in forward combat areas, aboard ships off the Vietnam coast, or at various military installations in the country, are celebrating this Thanksgiving Day.
