This inflatoplane was developed for purposes of testing rubberized fabric for such items as aircraft, portable housing, etc. The craft features an enclosed cockpit, one-piece wing and simplified controls. The new inflatoplane's wing, tail assembly and cockpit are made of airpate (two walls of rubberized fabric connected by nylon threads). An airhose or household vacuum cleaner can be used to pump up the inflatoplane. The craft is made rigid with less air pressure than that required to inflate a tire on the family car. It is powered by a 44 horsepower Nelson engine which provides adequate power to give the inflatoplane the lift and speed it requires for an exciting flight over the countryside. Sequences show: (a) Craft on ground. (b) Inflating plane. (c) Spinning props. d) Man enters cockpit. (e) Inflatoplane takes off. f In flight. g) Inflatoplane touches down, takes off and in flight.
