S. AIR FORCE AERIAL RESUPPLY MISSIONS SUPPORT "LEATHERNECKS" AT KHE SANH, SVN (Official U. S. Air Force Film Released by the Department of Defense) During the past several weeks, North Vietnamese Army forces around Khe Sanh have been unsuccessful in attempts to cut off supplies to the U. S. and South Vietnamese forces at Khe Sanh. Despite enemy efforts, aerial resupply of the base goes on. U. S. Air Force C-130 "Hercules" and C-123 "Provider" transports employ Con- tainer Delivery System (CDS) drops and Parachute Low Altitude Delivery System (PLADS) deliveries from altitudes of approximately 600 feet to resupply the Marines with ammunition, fuel and rations. This film, shot March l through 5, 1968, shows the various methods of delivery used by the Air Force pilots in getting the goods through to the troops, and right on target. Once the materiel reaches the ground, the troops recover the supplies while low level air strikes are being conducted against enemy positions. Tons of equipment and supplies have been delivered during the past few weeks by Air Force and Marine Corps aerial resupply operations.
