Summary: Soldiers on guard at the Hoc Mon canal bridge. LS, truck drives over bridge. Handler of the 66th Inf Combat Tracker Dog Plt opens kennel door of a Labrador Retriever. Team members leave quarters and are briefed on mission. Team leaves camp area with two dogs. CU, soldier puts Combat Tracker Team hat on Labrador Retriever (Tracker dog). Combat Tracker Team sign. Pan to orderly room. Soldier exits with assignment. He calls team leader from his quarters. VS, the two men look at map. Handler opens kennel and puts collar on dog. Truck convoy crossing the Hoc Mon canal bridge. Soldier with M-79 grenade launcher on guard in fg. Civilian log truck crosses the bridge. Soldiers in Boston Whaler assault boat returning from patrol. Boat comes into shore. Soldiers on guard at bridge. Soldiers look at map. Boston Whaler assault boat at shore. Soldiers prepare boat for patrol. Boat starts up canal. Soldiers with two dogs cross field. CU, tracker dog. CU, handler's hand on leash. CU, handler looking about. CU, Combat Tracker Dog Team emblem on hat of handler. Soldiers cross sandy road and kneel at edge of woods. Soldier signals for tracker dog. Handler and dog join the soldier. Handler changes collar of dog. Tracker dog and handler move out along trail followed by the remainder of the team. A scout dog brings up the rear. Tracker dog and handler discover .50 cal ammunition in brush. Handler signals for the team leader. Soldier examines the ammunition. Soldier signals for scout dog. Handler changes collar of scout dog and they lead team into brush. CUs, soldier checks ammunition belt. Team enters jungle.
