Description

Summary: RV, pilot at controls of UH-1D copter in flight. Copter lands near smoke from signal grenade. Soldiers in grassy field. UH-1Ds land. Soldiers get off and start across grassy field as the copters take off. Soldiers take cover in tall grass. Soldier speaks over radio. Soldiers move thru dense palms and brush. VS, soldiers wade chest deep in water of jungle swamp. Soldiers on dry land; one man speaks over radio. VS, soldier discovers punji sticks in swamp. They start to remove them. Captured weapons on display. Officer demonstrates mysterious rocks which ignite when a lit match is placed near them. Vietnamese vehicles pass soldiers at roadside in village. Soldiers move out across field and over railroad tracks. Soldiers check hut in village. Vietnamese interpreter talks with suspect. Woman unlocks door of hut. Soldiers walk along canal. ARVN interpreter questions suspect. Soldier digs in graveyard. Soldiers move thru jungle and brush. Soldiers approach hut. ARVN interpreter question suspect. American soldiers look on. Suspect is led away. Soldiers cross field. Soldiers cross flooded rice paddies. Soldiers cross jungle stream on single log. Soldiers at copter pickup point. UH-1D lands, takes off. Soldiers pass thru wrecked huts in jungle. Soldiers walk in defile in brush. Soldiers resting. Soldiers discover Vietcong graves. They dig up skeletons. Officer checks ID cards of dead Vietcong. Soldiers hang skulls on branches of tree. VS, soldiers wade across shoulder-deep river. They hold their weapons overhead. Soldier standing in water speaks over radio.
