Description
Explains the purposes of UNRRA and shows examples of the problems it faces in Europe. Reel 1, the UNRRA agreement is signed by President Roosevelt at a meeting of 44 nations at the White House. Shows homeless and starving Poles; other citizens, fight for food. The Allied Military Government treats and feeds civilians. Reel 2, Director-General Herbert Lehman speaks on the duty of UNRRA. Shows citizens of Stalingrad rebuilding their city and scenes of the Allied Relief Administration at work in Europe (1918). Includes various agricultural scenes. Shows Herbert Hoover.
