THE MEN OF TIMOR Part 3
Description
Cut off from friendly forces and bypassed by the war, a contingent of Australian troops primitively subsists in the jungles of Japanese-held Timor. Guerilla attacks harass Japanese units. A radio transmitter is constructed and Darwin contacted. Ammunition, food, medicine, and money is dropped to the Australians. A portion of the native populace is won over with Australian coins and an insular civil war instigated. The island is recaptured by rifle-firing Australian guerrillas and spear-and fire-stick wielding natives.
