Magic (Earvin) Johnson "Face to Face" with Connie Chung Part 2
Description
This video recording contains segments of the Columbia Broadcasting Service (CBS) news program "Face to Face" with Connie Chung hosting and featuring former basketball star Magic Johnson. In the first segment, Chung interviewed Johnson, who discussed his contraction of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), how the disease affected his wife, child, and his relationship with both. Johnson called for expanded educational campaigns that target the heterosexual community. He also discussed the problems he was facing in his own life, and how people with AIDS were treated in American society. The next segment, "Life on the Road," focuses on the professional athlete lifestyle, and the "groupies" that often associate with male athletes. A portion of Johnson's interview with Chung is also featured in this segment, in which he talked about his days as a bachelor, and the lifestyle he led during that period. The next segment, "Inglewood High," features Doctor Bob Arnot, who is the medical expert for "CBS This Morning," as well as Chung and a group of Los Angeles teenagers discussing Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and AIDS. The last segment, "Roxie," features general information and statistics about heterosexuals and AIDS, as well as the story of Roxie Vantola, a heterosexual woman who has the disease, and whose husband and child both died from it.
