Description

This moving image contains the following: Reel 1 part 1, the Leningrad sector: German infantry with artillery support, advance from trenches, cross barbed wire, and are later decorated. Part 2, the Central and South Russian fronts: a German armored-car train is converted to rail operation and lays an artillery barrage. Infantry are unloaded and return with guerilla prisoners. German cavalry patrols the steppe; field artillery command a coast and, directed by platform observers, assist tanks and infantry to advance and take prisoners. In reel 2, part 1, a rocket barrage is laid in Russia. German troops are decorated and a German plane crew celebrates its 1500th sortie. Part 2 shows German ships, with stretcher cases and equipment aboard, evacuating Corsica under a smoke screen. Demolition charges explode within the port. In part 3, German mountain troops use fishing smacks to invade Corfu Island under air cover. The troops, moving supplies by mule, advance into hilly country. In part 4, Marshal von Weicks inspects German troops about to embark from Durazza, Albania. Part 5 shows General Graziani visiting General Kesselring at German headquarters and then reporting to Mussolini. In part 6, Generals Graziani, Stahl (German commandant), and Ricci (Fascist militia head) parade to the tomb of Italy's unknown soldier in Rome. Part 7 shows parts from Allied planes downed in Germany being dismantled and loaded on railroad cars. In Part 8, German fighter pilots land and describe their successes.
