MILITARY DOCUMENTARY: On the problems encountered by German military vehicles along the muddy, Russian front. R.1: German tanks, trucks, cars and other vehicles have problems with the mud. German soldiers on bicycles, in horse-drawn wagons and motor vehicles move slowly or not at all. Tire chains prove to be useless, so soldiers dig out vehicles and cover road with dirt, timber and branches for traction. R.2: Military vehicles are towed along muddy roads by German troops, horses, tanks, and bulldozers.
