Description

SUMMARY: On All Sails on the Baltic Sea Off Leningrad: Sailing vessel at sea. Young sailors one up on deck for inspection. Various views aboard sailing vessel as they take turn at the wheel; unfurl the sails; "shoot the sun", etc. From Vladivostok to the Arctic: Ship at port. Tilt down from top of mast to deck. Sailors run along deck and then climb to the highest mast. Sailors tie mast securely. Views of the schooner at sea. Bon Voyage from Moscow: Youth motorcyclists line up along Moscow street. They start off in line and go along streets and country roads through Tula, Oryol, Briansk and Vyazma. Children along the way greet them with flowers. At stop off the motorcyclists are greeted by all; the riders explain their machines to the children. Motorcyclists start out again in single file on the way back. Annabet Begienieve Teaches Children How to Cultivate Cotton: View of Russian newspapers. Youth with farm tools walk to fields of cotton accompanied by Annabet Begienieve. Views of the fields of cotton. Children work around the plants. Woman shows children how to cultivate properly. Not One Grain Will Be Left: Views of fields of wheat; machine cuts wheat. Oxen- drawn machines also cut wheat. Group of pioneer youth walk to fields singing. The youth, equipped with pails, pick up the stray stalks, put them into pails, empty pails into large bin and continue until no grain is left on field. Children walk off the fields singing.
