The Black Contribution Part 1

Description

In this film, Benjamin Hooks, Executive Director of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and actor Brock Peters presented biographies of some of the men and women who have been important political and civic leaders in the Afro-American community, from the early days of slavery to the lives of Adam Clayton Powell, Ralph Bunche, and Martin Luther King, Jr. The development of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is examined, as is the life of one of its leaders--Roy Wilkens.
