Who's Out There Part 1
Description
This film, hosted by Orson Welles, discusses the existence of extraterrestrial life, and Welles quotes excerpts from his famous radio broadcast of H. G. Wells' "War of the Worlds," which terrified people because they believed that Martians were, in fact, invading Earth. The film concludes with a discussion at Boston University by a panel of American academics (Carl Sagan, Ashley Montagu, Krister Stendahl, Richard Berendzen, Philip Morrison, and George Wald) on the evolution of life, and the possibility of life in other galaxies. The film was produced by Robert Drew for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
