ABC News Closeup Part 1

Description

This video, through reporting by Frank Reynolds, examines Palestinian terrorist activity in the Middle East and discusses the history of Palestinian war refugees, from the British withdrawal to the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) suicide squads. PLO leaders, including Yasser Arafat, say that their situation is a battleground on which anyone might be killed, and that foreigners should keep away from that battleground. Reporting on the Palestinians' claims of Israeli police brutality and torture is also featured. The program is an ABC News presentation that was produced by Malcolm Clarke and Richard Richter and executive produced by Pamela Hill.
