A President's Country Part 5
Description
This film documents the successful struggle waged by the people of the American Southwest against climate, barren soil, and remoteness from older, more established centers of population and industry. The film presents a picture of how this struggle has produced hardy, proud people — one being President Lyndon Johnson, who embodies characteristics that many consider to be peculiarly American. The film was written and directed by Charles Guggenheim, produced by Guggenheim Productions, and narrated by Gregory Peck, with music by Dimitri Tiomkin.
