Strength for the Free World Part 1
Description
This film is a report on the Ruhr, the industrial heart of Germany, with an emphasis on getting the coal mines back to peak production. The German government, with American aid, sought to build new housing for the miners. Within the mines, new machinery, improved methods, and better labor-management consultation raised productivity. This is a Marshall Plan film that was presented by Cinelone Studios, Amsterdam, for MSA/SRE; directed by Peter Hopkinson; and produced by Philip Mackie.
