The Marshall Plan at Work in Turkey - 1950 Part 3
Description
Drilling for oil, improving communications through new telegraph and telephone poles, and better roads are all a part of modernizing Turkey with Marshall Plan aid and international cooperation. New roads help to develop exploitation of Turkey’s important mineral fields (especially copper and chrome) and coal mines, and steel mills and ports are improved. The Turkish products, thus more efficiently derived, can be sold to the U.S. and other countries to provide hard currency with which to continue improvements within Turkey — an example of the potential chain reaction of the results of Marshall Plan aid. A Marshall Plan film, presented by Editorial Film Productions, Ltd., for ECA/OSR, directed by James Hill, narrated by Jack Ralph, written by Arthur Calder Marshall, and produced by Jim Mellor.
