Women and the Spirit of '76 - 1976 Part 9
Description
The American Revolution led to a transformation in the social order of the 18th century, and women played a significant role during this dramatic era. In this film, prominent Americans, including Betty Friedan, Dr. Rita Hauser, Dr. Margaret Mead, Patricia Linh, Prof. Richard B. Morris, Bennetta Washington, Gov. Ella Grasso, Dr. Jesse Bernard, and Catherine Filene Shouse relate the current progress made in the women's movement to the leadership provided by their sisters of 1776 (such as Abigail Adams, Phyllis Wheatley, Mercy Otis Warren, and Molly Pitcher). Produced by Gordon Kelly and William Culley, directed by William Culley, and narrated by Bette Jerome, with character voices by Halo Wines and Richard Bauer.
