This film focuses on aided self-help housing programs around the world, in which land, building materials, and instruction are supplied to poverty-stricken areas by governments, but construction is undertaken by homeowners. These programs are intended to provide aid to those who are willing to help themselves. The film is a Webster-Martin production (Philip Martin) that was produced by the University of Pennsylvania for the Housing Division of the ICA; presented by the International Cooperation Administration of the United States of America; directed by Nicholas Webster; and supervised by Blanche Lemco.
