Emilia - 1951 Part 6
Description
At the crossroads between northern and southern Italy lies the province of Emilia, with its proud cities of Bologna, Parma, and Ferrara. It is one of the nation's richest regions, and yet, because of the strength of the Communist vote there, is known as "Red Emilia." The province, which suffered much destruction during the war, is a major recipient of Marshall Plan funds. That aid and technical assistance, together with local initiative, helps to rebuild the region's towns, roads, and industries. Land reclamation schemes are underway, and agricultural production is up. A Marshall Plan film, produced and directed by Vittorio Gallo, and narrated by Frank Gervasi. A Vittorio Gallo Films production, Rome, for ECA Italy.
