Description
This film — Part II of a two-part CBS News special report examining the war in Indochina — covers the military, political, economic, and social situation in South Vietnam. Bert Quint reports from Laos on the heavy fighting in that country, and Charles Collingwood discusses the "widening war" argument; the war in the southern Delta region; the breadbasket of South Vietnam; pacification; and anti-American sentiment. Also included are interviews with the following Vietnamese citizens: a student; a peace movement leader; an opposition deputy; and an economics minister. The film was directed by Norman Gorin, executive produced by Ernest Leiser, and produced by Philip Scheffler and Bernard Birnbaum.
