Assignment Washington Part 2

Description

This film profiles an Italian newspaper journalist, Marino de Medici, as he details his day-to-day duties in Washington, D.C. and travels to cover several presidential campaign events in 1976. President Ford is seen campaigning in the South and on a Mississippi riverboat, and de Medici rides an Amtrak train on challenger Jimmy Carter's whistle-stop tour in the Northeast. De Medici describes, in his own words, the circumstances in which a foreign correspondent works in the U.S.; his freedom of movement; and his freedom to report back to his paper without hindrance. The film is a Vision Associates production, executive produced by Meyer Odze and directed by Lee R. Bobker.
