Washington, D.C. Part 7
Description
This film highlights Washington, D.C. as a city of contrasts — past and present, church and cabaret, airports and railways, and parks for baseball, riding, bicycles, and hikers — and includes shots of historic and famous monuments and buildings throughout the District. Washington, D.C. is shown as a cultural center as well; old musical instruments from the Smithsonian collection are played, the National Gallery of Art is visited, the Netherlands Carillon is heard, and the National Symphony Orchestra gives a concert in a park on a warm summer day. Finally, street vendors, tourist guides, and Marines in full dress drill are seen on the streets as Washington, D.C. is presented as a historic city that lives gracefully in the modern era. The film was written, directed, and produced by Herbert H. Rosen; co-produced by Edmund Frost; narrated by Barton Heyman; and produced for the Washington Area Convention and Visitors Bureau by Frost Productions, Inc. (Washington, D.C.).
