FIGHTING THE CORN BORER WITH MACHINERY Part 1
Description
Ensilage harvesters are used to cut corn close to the ground. Disking and plowing destroy the corn borer's home. A husker-shredder is used to shell corn. Shelled corn is examined for borers. Corn stalks left in the field are burned to eradicate the borer. Emphasizes that clean plowing and harrowing in the fall destroys the corn borer's winter abode.
