Description
Reel 1 shows parts of Louisiana's Acadian country. Includes views of a small rural town in this area. Many sweet potatoes were ruined by the sweet potato weevil. Reel 2 describes the sweet potato weevil, its effect on sweet potatoes and sweet potato plants, and the stages in its growth. A program is initiated by an Agriculture Department entomologist to eradicate the sweet potato weevil in this region. Reel 3, the program for eradication of the weevil continues. Shows fields of sweet potatoes in various stages of growth. Weevil-free sweet potatoes are harvested and trucked to market.
