PARK MAINTENANCE Part 3

Description

A map shows park areas in Washington, D.C. Men prepare flower beds in a small park area. Trees are transplanted in the Lincoln Memorial vicinity. A power mower is used to cut grass on the Washington Monument grounds. Shows road building and maintenance operations. A park policeman on a motorcycle gives a ticket to a motorist. The Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool is scrubbed. Recreational activities, such as baseball, tennis, and band concerts, are carried on in park areas. Large scale mosquito control operations are conducted in conjunction with the Public Health Service and the District Government.
