F-14(A) High Angle-of-Attack Flying Characteristics Reel 2 · Part 8
Description
The original agency catalog description reads: Audience: Aviators, R10 F-14(A), Aircrew F-14(A). Synopsis: The F-14(A) aircraft's high angle-of-attack flight regime is discussed in detail. The following topics are covered: adverse yaw, the effect of sideslip, the dihedral effect, directional stability, inertial and kinematic coupling, and the contribution of stores. Normal high angle-of-attack flying qualities are discussed, including stall recognition, loss of control effectiveness, and wing rock phenomena. The second half of the discussion covers departure recovery procedures induced by nose-high/low-airspeed, asymmetric thrust, coupling, and flight control inputs. Purpose: Familiarize aircrew with high angle-of-attack flying qualities of F-14(A) aircraft. F-14 F.R.S. replacement air group (RAG) syllabus.
