Crisis Part 1

Description

This film covers events preceding and during the Cuban Missile Crisis, including the U.S. buildup of strategic forces and continued aerial surveillance over the disclosed missile sites. Footage shows scenes of U.S. military deployment; Soviet freighters at sea; reconnaissance photos showing buildup, deactivation, and destruction of missiles sited in Cuba; and the removal of weapons from the island. Footage of President John F. Kennedy is included.
