Summary: Tests in Aero Medical Lab decompression chamber of partial pressure suit. Scenes of Capt Yeager and flight of X-1. 1) Animation of earth, atmosphere, and altitude reached by man. 2) CU collapsing a metal can. 3) CU Early model aircraft. 4) Aerial shot B-17. B-29 in flight. Models of future jet and rocket aircraft. 5) Animation of pressure area on C-97, F-84, C-69 and B-29. 6) Animation of F-80 canopy rupture. 7) INT CU Medical officer assists man into rubber pressure suit in decompression chamber; Adjusting plastic helmet to wearer. Man enters chamber, officer fastens door. 8) INT CU Man tries oxygen supply system and moves about in chamber. 9) Animation on facial mask fittings. 10) MS Doctor taking blood samples as male patient lies on cot wearing chest type breathing device. 11) CU Patient's hand, syringe and needle and blood sample. 12) LS doctor taking blood samples. 13) CU patient with chest type breathing device and oxygen supply system. Doctor adjusts oxygen flow system. Manometer reading, oxygen flow. Patients arm. Assistant testing samples of blood plasma at Aero-Med. Lab., WPAFB. 14) Animated chart of blood and oxygen flow thru body. 15) Animation of air bubbles forming. Glass of water boiling. 16) Several scenes of a person demonstrating a partial pressure suit. Person demonstrating partial pressure suit with helmet and gloves. 17) Several scenes of pressure chamber and oxygen system in operation, with human subject entering chamber. Door escape hatch covered by heavy paper for quick decompression test. Pressure suit test subject in chamber. Door punctured for decompression. Water in glass boiling subject gets up and picks up container, walks around in chamber, fastening oxygen hose to suit. Disconnecting walk-around oxygen bottle. 18) Several scenes as subject tries to clear pressure on head. Balck out of subject Recovery from blackout. 19) Animation of blood stream and oxygen flow through body. Tug pulls B-29 over X-1 loading pit; X-1 is loaded into bomb bay of B-29. Capt. Yeager adjusts chute near nose of B-29, and enters plane. 20) MS B-29 taxiing. 21) Up shot B-29 and X-1 take off. 22) Aerial B-29 and X-1. 23) INT Cockpit of X-1 showing Capt.
