Reel l: 1) CU five German civilians standing in front of the Winkler rocket which is mounted on a three foot high permanent launching platform. In back of them is blackboard showing schematic drawing of same rocket. 2) MS small group of German civilians standing in a semi-circle looking on as Engineer Winkler, with the aid of a blackboard and rocket standing beside him, explains the main characteristics of the rocket. 3) CU of Mr. Winkler holding a small, square-type instrument, presumably taken from this rocket, as he continues the lecture about this invention. FIRING OF ROCKET. 4) MS group of civilians, military personnel and police officers standing on sand dunes close to the ocean. 5) MS three Germans pouring a liquid chemical fuel mixture from one can into another on the sandy beach preparing for the launching of the Winkler rocket. 6) MLS same scene as above with the Winkler rocket standing upright on a small launching platform in the background. 7) US group of civilians standing on top of sand dunes observing the various preparations involved in the launching of the Winkler rocket. 8) MS four Germans as they continue to pour liquid fuel into rocket's combustion tank. 9) CU two Germans, one working on top and the other on the bottom of the Winkler rocket, preparing it for final launching. l0) CU several German civilians, Army and Navy personnel standing around the Winkler rocket as one civilian in white coat adjusts something in the rocket close to the rocket tail fins. 11) CU group of Germans standing over a portable table charting the course of rocket's flight. 12) CU same shot different angle, man in rear releases a weather balloon and others adjust various instruments. 13) CU two German civilians standing on the beach close to the ocean discussing something as one holds an unidentified box-type instrument in his hand. 14) ECU German civilian standing on ladder as he works on the wall of rocket which is placed in vertical position. Camera gives an extreme close-up slow shot showing the warhead, main body and tail. 15) LS of same man standing on ladder working on rocket's warhead on beach close to the ocean. Repeat shot of above from a different angle. 16) MS same scene as above -- two Germans in fg climb into sand ditches around rocket which will presumably be used as shelter for firing of the rocket. 17) MDS of German civilians working on the rocket warhead -- one standing on ladder, the other working on the launching platform. 18) CU four Germans working on their cameras as they prepare to shoot the launching of the Winkler rocket. 19) CU two Germans continue to work on the rocket and get ready for launching. 20) LS of Winkler rocket standing in its platform in a vertical position with a group of people around it ready to observe rocket firing. FIRING. 21) CU two German civilian cameramen standing with steel helmets on their heads getting their cameras adjusted and ready to shoot the launching of the rocket. 22) CU fast pan shots from these two cameramen to another cameraman sitting down in a sand ditch from which he will probably shoot the launching. 23) LS of the Winkler rocket in a vertical position on the beach ready to be fired. 24) LS same as above as rocket is fired, goes up in the air about l00 yards and falls nearby in sand on its back, burning. Boat launching of the rocket was a failure. Launcher repeat of same shot showing the launching and drop of rocket. 25) LS sandy beach and an empty rocket launcher, man walks from the sand ditch and inspects the smoky remains of fired rocket. Another two men come into the scene and pull sand to extinguish the rocket which is on fire. 26) CU German civilians examine the remains of this launched Winkler rocket; crowd of people in bg observe their work. ESTABLISHING THE CAUSE OF ROCKET EXPLOSION. 27) CU two civilians, one with a notebook noting data which could have caused the rocket to explode -- both men stand near the wrecked rocket. 28) CU same civilian with notebook standing near the empty rocket launching platform, picks up a small instrument box, opens it and examines its contents. 29) CU two Germans bending over burned out rocket, both examine the various burned out parts of the rocket.
