Summary: Coverage of range gunnery practice received by Army Air Service pilots from Selfridge Field, Michigan. (Shot list to follow.) 1) High-speed camera footage of .50 caliber machine gun tests with and without recoil stabilizers. 2) Shows ten MB-3A's parked with pilots lined up in front of aircraft -- MB-3A with insignia of 94th Pursuit Squadron in bg. 3) Shows ground crewmen holding belt of ammunition and in cockpit arming machine gun. 4) MB-3A taxis from parking position and takes off to right. 5) Scenes of bullseye targets and target sleeve towed by DH-4 being strafed by machine gun, including Av's of MB-3A making passes at target and pilot's hand on control stick. 6) Shows pilot inspecting hits on sleeve. 7) Sequence of scenes of observer getting out of DH-4 and milking cow at rear of aircraft; personnel cleaning rifles and playing checkers in camp; high-speed camera footage of Browning .50 caliber machine gun being fired with and without recoil stabilizer and scenes of targets used during tests showing shot grouping with 30 round bursts.
