Summary: Coverage of Minuteman transporter-erector delivering, erecting and emplacing missile in silo 31. Shows scenes of Mark V re-entry vehicle being mated to missile in silo 32 and Minuteman being hoisted from silo onto an in-plant transporter. (Shot list to follow.) Reel 1, 512': Scenes of inverted Mark V re-entry vehicle No. 006 in a sling-lifting device being lifted from truck by crane, rotated to upright position, lowered into silo and mated to Minuteman missile, and the sling-lifting device being raised from silo. Reel 2, 785': Series of shots of in-plant transporter being raised by crane, Minuteman missile being hoisted from silo and swinging over to the in-plant transporter. Includes scenes of two men in bucket of cherry-picker being lifted up to side of missile near the second stage separation plane. Reel 3, 965': Scenes of Minuteman transporter-erector being escorted by security police from MAB-1 area, enroute and arriving at silo 31, then Boeing technicians bolt down trailer, inspect hoist and porthole, and work around the transporter-erector and back of cab. INT scenes of silo as lid is removed and closed and missile lowered into silo. Reel 4,, 937': Scenes of Minuteman transporter-erector arriving at pad 31 and emplacement of missile. Shows the transporter-erector backing into pad area, being hooked-up to silo, bolted down, opening of rear doors, erection and missile lowering into silo. Also includes scenes of hoses being disconnected from tractor cab, technician at portable erector control panel with CU's of the hydraulic arm and winch, and cables holding the descending missile. Reel 5, 889': Series of shots of the Minuteman transporter-erector being raised to erect position, men in bucket of cherry-picker working on hoist at top of transporter-erector, two technicians at side of truck cab with headsets on, the missile descending into silo and transporter-erector lowering to horizontal position.
