Description

Coverage of Project Charging Sparrow, a firing program to determine the reliability of the F-4/AIM-7D weapon system after being subjected to Southeast Asia operational and climatic environment. Shows live warhead being replaced by test warhead on AIM-7D, uploading of missile onto aircraft, flight crew briefing and debriefing sessions, aircraft being preflight checked, camouflaged F-4's taxiing, taking off, in flight, and firing AIM-7D. Also shows F-89J with AQM-38A drone taking off and aircraft preflight check, testing of AIM-7D, and installation of scope camera on F-4 aircraft.
