Covers rescue of Capt Jerry J. Jenkinson of 602nd Tactical Fighter Sq (TFS) and his return to Udorn RTAFB, and the recovery of the remains of Mel Peter B. Christianson of the 388th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing (TRW) by the 40th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery squadron (ARRS Sq) (HR-53B). Reel 1 - 1) AVs INT HH-53B showing gunners at miniguns, crew at controls, and Capt Jenkinson resting aboard helicopter after pickup. 2) AVs parachute in underbrush, Capt Jenkinson proceeding to jungle penetrator and being hoisted aboard helicopter. 200' Total footage in reel. Reel 2 - 1) Capt Jenkinson leaving HH-53B, being greeted, talking with greeters and pararescueman, standing with crew beside HH-53B, leaving 40th ARRS operations building and getting into ambulance. 140' Total footage in reel. Reel 3 - 1) AVs INT HH-53B showing rear gunner firing minigun, pilot at controls, gunners checking side door miniguns, and pararescueman checking equipment prior to leaving helicopter. 2) AVs pararescueman on ground, proceeding toward chute in weeds, bending over body of Maj Christianson. 3) AVs INT HH-53B showing body being hoisted aboard. 4) Crew leaving HH-53B and talking as body is removed from helicopter. 293' Total footage in reel.
