Description

1) MS PAN Hangar deck as fire fighting detail plays hose on smoking bulkhead; extensive damage to hangar deck at outboard elevator position; burst water line, FG.2) HS PAN Damage to port side at hangar deck level.3) CU PAN Damage to island.4) MS GV Various views of wreckage after bomb damage & fire.5) HS PAN Flight deck & elevator showing extensive damage from suicide plane attack (SV).6) MS Men push burned rubble of planes over the side from hangar deck.7) MS Corpsmen work with casualty on stretcher on hangar deck; rubble from damage, BG.8) CU Small tractor nudges burned out plane engine over the side.9) MS Damaged F4U is jettisoned.10) MS General activity on hangar deck as men sweep up rubble & wash down deck; corpsmen carry casualty out of scene.11) HS ADM MARC MITSCHER is passed via breeches buoy to DD underway, alongside.12) GV MS Ship"s company at quarters on flight deck during burial at sea ceremony; marine guard fires three volleys; all hands salute.
