VANGUARD LAUNCH Part 1

Description

1) MS Gantry lit up by lights (night scene). GtoF2) MS Same (early dawn). G3) LA CU A telemetering antenna. G4) CU Two men prepare cameras for the launching. G5) CU Telemetering antenna; gantry in BG. G6) LA CU Telemetering antenna (SV). G7) CU Worker fastening his oil skin coat. G8) MCU The technicians discuss details prior to the launch. G9) LA CU The work stand around the rocket opening up. G10) LA MS Workers around base of the rocket. G11) LA MCU The work stands opening around the nose cone of the rocket. G12) MLS The Vanguard onthe pad away from the gantry; several workers at base. G13) ECU Gantry moving away from the rocket.14) CU Same. G15) LA MS Looking straight up to tip of rocket on pad. G16) CU Technicians working at base of rocket (SV).17) MCU Some of the workers looking up toward rocket (SV).18) MS Rocket on pad ready for firing. G19) CU Men working at base of rocket. G27) MS Rocket on the pad next to the gantry; several workers leaving the area.28) MS The 20" satellite is uncrated in preparation for free space test. G29) CU The satellite, antennas folded, on small stand. G30) ECU Technicians working with the satellite.31) MCU One of the men putting the antennas in horizontal position on the satellite. G32) MCU Satellite is hooked to halyard for free space test. G33) LA MS Satellite in air during free space test. G34) CU Workers hanging onto the halyard which holds the Vanguard up in the air. G35) MS The satellite is lowered; man is ready to catch the satellite.36) CU The satellite is carried away by a man. G37) MCU A cover is placed over the satellite in the case.38) MS Man carries the satellite and case away. G39) MCU A group of men entering one of the buildings. G40) HA CU Satellite in place on the third stage. G41) HA MCU Same; the gates open up around the rocket.42) HA MS The satellite and top of rocket as seen from the gantry as the gantry moves away from the rocket. (SV)43) CU Nose cone is swung thru the air to be put on the satellite. (SV)44) LA CU Nose cone in place on the Vanguard rocket; men are around the nose cone. G
