Description

1) MS Advance Headquarters Building, Naval Support Forces, Antarctica, located at Harewood, Christ Church, New Zealand; New Zealand flag is seen flying from white flag pole, PAN up to left showing American flag flying from flag pole off to left, 2-ton pick-up truck passes along driveway and out of scene to right.2) MS PAN; same as before. G3) MCU Sign outside of Advance Headquarters Building, which reads, "Advance Headquarters, United States Naval Support Force, Antarctica"; this is next to sidewalk near building. VG4) LA CU U.S. colors fluttering in breeze off flag pole outside of Headquarters Building. EXCELLENT5) LA CU New Zealand colors fluttering in breeze from flag pole; splattering of white clouds seen in sky in BG. EXCELLENT6) CU Deep Freeze personnel sitting at a table in Senior Petty Officer's Olub at Harewood, Christ Church, New Zealand.7) CU Personnel sitting around the table in Petty Officer's Club, enjoying refreshments and chatting. G8) ECU One of the Deep Freeze personnel taking a sip from his glass, chatting with someone. G9) CU Chief Petty Officer speaking with two enlisted men in Senior Petty Officer's Club. G10) CU Looking down over cash register in club, bartender strikes keys on cash register and the drawer opens, twenty-cent sale is made on register. G11) CU Bartender filling pitchers with draft beer at Senior Petty Officer's Club; bartender pushes the large pitcher over, a hand reaches in and picks up pitcher, moves out of scene with it as the bartender begins filling up another large quart pitcher of draft beer, a hand then reaches into scene, picks up pitcher. G12) CU Men sitting around in the club, one of them arrives with a pitcher of beer and begins pouring it into a glass for his buddies sitting next to him. G13) MS Entrance to Senior Petty Officer's Club, man in dungarees is seen leaving; several men then enter scene to left, Chiefs in Aviation green and enlisted men in dungarees are seen entering Senior Petty Officer's Club entrance. VG14) CU Sign on front of Senior Petty Officer's Club at Harewood reads, "U.S. Navy Senior Petty Officer's Mess, Open Petty Grades E-5 - E-9 and Bona Fide Guests", it also gives hours of Club's opening and closing. VG15) MS VX-6 personnel sitting at bar in Senior Petty Officer's Club, the bartender, a New Zealander, tending bar; bartender moves down in FG, begins mixing a drink for one of the patrons. VG16) CU Two New Zealander bartenders at Senior Petty Officer's Club, one of them pouring a glass of beer and walking off, second bartender mixes a drink and passes it to patron at bar. G17) CU Interior view of Navy Exchange at Harewood, Christ Church, New Zealand, man enters scene in BG; second class Petty officer, begins selecting items from shelves and counters, he then leaves scene to left BG, after selecting his items. VG18) CU Woman cashier in Naval Exchange, man comes up to counter with items, woman rings up prices, man pulls out maney to pay for items; second man enters scene, places some items on glass counter to be paid for; first man takes his items and leaves Naval Exchange; second man reaches in his pocket and pulls out wallet and pays for items. VG19) ECU Second Class Petty Officer selecting some cigarettes in Naval Exchange, pulls them down from shelf. G20) CU Sign reading, "Welcome Back To Your New Navy Store, Deep Freeze, Christ Church" (this is done by free hand). G21) MCU Wooden building, containing Navy Exchange, Navy enlisted man enters Naval Exchange to make some purchases. G
